A woman was left badly injured after having acid thrown in her face on her doorstep.
The victim was attacked in the doorway of her home in Brighton, East Sussex at around 4.20pm on Thursday, May 20.
She was left with "multiple serious injuries" from the attack, police said.
The woman is currently receiving medical treatment at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where she is in a serious condition.
Police officers were called but the suspect had already fled the scene.
Sussex Police has now launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Officers are carrying out door to door inquiries as they try to find witnesses to the attack.
Detective Sergeant Jennifer Pietersen said: “The victim has suffered multiple serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
"We are pursuing a number of enquiries to identify and arrest the suspect involved.
“High visibility patrols are being carried out in the city and house to house enquiries are ongoing.
“We are urging anyone with information to contact us without delay.”

In a statement, the force said: "Sussex Police has launched an investigation after a woman suffers serious injuries in Brighton.
"Officers swiftly responded to a report of noxious substance being thrown over a woman in the doorway of a property in Steine Garden at around 4.20pm on Thursday (20 May).
"The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival.
"Officers are conducting a number of fast-time enquiries to identify the suspect and identify any witnesses.
"The victim has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in a serious condition."
Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
