Ten people, including a police officer, were killed at the Boulder King Soopers on Monday afternoon. One man is in custody, but authorities have provided few details.

Of the 10 victims, only the police officer, Eric Talley, has been identified. Talley, a father of seven, was the first law enforcement official to arrive after the shooting began at about 2:30 p.m. at the grocery store at 3600 Table Mesa Drive.

Police have not identified the suspect by name, or provided a possible motive for the shooting.

Vice President Kamala Harris said on Tuesday morning that the shooting was “absolutely baffling.”

“It’s 10 people going about their day, living their lives, not bothering anybody,” she said according to a pool report. “A police officer who is performing his duties, and with great courage and heroism.”
