The desperate brother of a "really happy" teenage girl fears she has been kidnapped after telling her family she was going for a walk in a park with a friend two days ago.

Police have issued an urgent appeal after 13-year-old Julia Kwiatkowska was last seen in the Easton area of Bristol at 12.30pm on Sunday.

Today her 17-year-old brother Damian Jakubczyk revealed he hadn't slept since and his family-of-five were still hoping for her safe return.

Speaking on behalf of his parents, he told the Daily Star: "Julia left about 12.30pm on the 31st of January, which was this Sunday.

"She said she was going on a walk and she said she was going to come back within an hour. She said she was going with her friend.

"It's really worrying because it's really unusual for her to do something like that.

"We as a family we have a real edge on punctuality and that's something we tried to teach her as well. The latest she has been was an hour and it wasn't any later ever.

"It was about after two o'clock that we actually started worrying but we were still hopeful that she lost track of time.

"We got to around eight o'clock and we were, 'look, okay, something is really wrong' and so that's when we called the police."

He went on: "We did have a couple of searches about our house. Once again she said she was going with her friend and that's the most worrying part for us.

"We never really had any arguments and my family did actually go to the park with her in the morning and she was really happy. Before she left she was really happy as well.

"As for the investigation, all they want to tell us is they are working on it. They did have a few inquiries with a few people. They did search a couple of houses already.

"(Her) The phone is switched off and what's worrying is the last time she was on any social media as well was at the time she left the house."

Damian told of how his parents Ewelina Jakubczyk and Sebastian Kwiatkowski came to Britain six years ago and work as a hotel supervisor and self-employed driver respectively.

He added: "I haven't slept since that night. I'm worried sick.

"My mum didn't sleep the night as well. It wasn't the greatest two days."

Explaining what was going through their minds, he said: "The worst thing that could happen when she was out with the friend is that she wasn't honest with us about who the friend could be.

"I don't like to even think about what it could and could not be at this point.

"But the other thing is something happened on the way back.

"I can't say we are doing great, we have had people helping us a lot which is really great to see.

"We still really hope we can find her as soon as possible."

Julia said her friend's name was Eric and Damian wasn't aware of her having a boyfriend, he added.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police say she was wearing ripped grey jeans, trainers, a pink, black and grey Adidas top and a dark green coat.

She is described as white, 5ft5ins, slim with long brown hair. Officers released new pictures of her as she remained missing on Tuesday.

Anyone with any information regarding Julia’s whereabouts is asked to call 999, quoting crime reference number 522102208.
