Cats hilariously recreate dramatic Lion King scene where Scar betrays Mufasa

Hilarious footage shows a pair of cats unwittingly recreate a famous scene from the Disney film The Lion King, where the film's villain, Scar, pushes his brother Mufasa off a cliff edge.

In the TikTok video, uploaded on November 22 by user @mariahgarrett_, a ginger cat and a black cat balance precariously on top of a mattress that is propped against a wall.

The ginger cat is innocently peering over the edge when the black cat creeps behind him so he runs out of space and slides off the edge.

In an attempt to claw his way to safety, the ginger tabby manages to turn around.

Playing the part of the villain, the black cat continues to hit the other with a paw, making him slip further and further down the edge.

Finally, the ginger tabby can hold on no longer and is sent plummeting to the ground while his foe looks down from above with what could be described as a sinister stare.

Unsurprisingly, the clip was "liked" more than 333,000 times on the video-sharing app where it was edited with the original Disney sound mix.

Thousands of people commented on the hilarious scene, with several joking that the pair of felines made a convincing pair of actors.

"Wow they must have rehearsed this a bunch of times," wrote one viewer.

Someone else joked: "You clearly just posted a clip of the original movie."

"And the Oscar goes to…" commented another fan.

The cats' owner said that, rather than being brothers like in the original animated film, the black cat, called Leonard, is the father of the ginger one, named Miles.
