Conspiracy theorist ‘stole truck so he could rush to meet with space aliens’

A conspiracy theorist claimed he stole a truck so he could rush to a "meeting with space aliens ".

Bryce Jerald Dixon reportedly told police in New Fork, Utah, in the US, that he took the truck so he could "get to the colosseum to get on a flight with alien diplomats".

Before reaching the "colosseum", Dixon had a change of heart and travelled back to the 7 Eleven store where the car was reportedly first stolen, cops said.

The fanatic told officers he felt bad about stealing the red pickup truck but continued to talk about the space aliens needing him for a meeting.

The owner of the pickup truck stopped into a 7 Eleven leaving the keys inside and doors unlocked when the alleged theft took place, court documents reported.

He called 911 immediately when he later saw the truck had been returned to the store, with Dixon fleeing the scene on foot.

The truck owner allegedly punched Dixon in the face when the alien enthusiast tried to slip past cops.

He was taken to hospital before being booked into the Utah County Jail, where officers said he attempted to escape custody three times.

Dixon is charged with suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and three counts of attempted escape.
