Denver weather: Pleasant Saturday, windy Sunday, chance for snow Tuesday.

It will be sunny and unseasonably warm in Denver today with a windy Sunday on tap and a chance for snow on Tuesday.

Denver’s high temperature will top out at 66 degrees on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Skies will be partly cloudy overnight with a low temp of about 40 degrees.

Winds will pick up in the mountains and along the foothills this evening with strong winds possible late tonight, the weather service said. Winds will be gusting in the 60- to 80-mph range in the mountains and along the higher foothills.

On Sunday in Denver skies will be sunny, winds will be breezy with gusts up to 28 mph, and the high temperature will hit 59 degrees, according to the weather service. Skies will be partly cloudy overnight and the low temperature will drop to about 21 degrees.

Strong winds on Sunday will extend from the foothills onto the Eastern Plains, where some areas will have heightened fire concerns in the afternoon. Light snow is expected in the mountains on late Monday and into Tuesday.

On Monday in Denver skies will be partly sunny and the high temp will reach 41 degrees, according to the forecast. There’s a 20% chance of snow in Denver before 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Skies will be mostly sunny in the afternoon and the high temp will be about 46 degrees.

There’s a better chance for “impactful” snow accumulations Thursday through Saturday in the mountains, and that system is expected to bring snow to the Front Range and plains as well.
