A woman whose nose was torn off by a dog said she doesn't blame the pet – and has three massive pooches of her own.
Gabrielle Myers, 31, was petting another dog when an American Pit Bull-cross flew at her and clamped his huge jaws from her forehead down to her chin.
The ferocious bite left her nose hanging from her face with a piece of skin, and it eventually fell off completely.
She underwent seven facial surgeries in the year that followed and she is also missing all her teeth.
Gabrielle, from Indiana, USA, has endured years of strangers staring at her face in horror. But despite that she still loves dogs and credits them with getting her through her lowest points.
She said of the 2017 attack: "I've always loved dogs and, when my friend invited me to a house party he was throwing, I couldn't wait to meet his new American Pit Bull called Caine.
"He already had a Pit Bull called Clyde, who adored me, and one of my own dogs, Chevy, is a cross between a Labrador, boxer and American pit bull.
"Personally, I've always loved the breed, although they're banned for being dangerous in the UK and some parts of the US.

"When I got to the party, I made a beeline for the dogs, like I usually did."
As she went to leave the party, Gabrielle was attacked by Clyde, who wrapped his huge mouth around her face.
She added: "I screamed as loud as I could and, startled, he let go. But by then, the horrific damage had been done.
"There was blood everywhere and Clyde kept circling me – but Caine stood protectively in between us."

Gabrielle was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis, where she was placed in a drug-induced coma.
The attack left her scarred for life and disfigured but she credits her dogs with saving her life.
She said: "For a long time, I felt like an outcast. Yet to my dogs, I was the same person. I don't know how I would have got through it without them.

"I decided not to press charges against my friend, but I've cut contact with him.
"Clyde was in quarantine for 10 days, as is protocol where I live, and then released.
"I didn’t want him put to sleep – he was a good dog who I think lashed out because he was jealous of the attention I was giving to Caine."
