Strongman Eddie Hall’s wife has shared a fascinating insight into his heavy diet of six gut-busting calorific meals a day.
Alexandra Hall is feeding up the former World’s Strongest Man’s as he prepares to take on Game of Thrones brute Hafthor Bjornsson in a boxing clash of the titans next year.
The 32-year-old's role includes managing 25-stone Eddie’s schedule and rustling up enough food served on giant platters to meet a 7,000-calorie-a-day target.
Alex said: “Eddie trains seven days a week, and it’s very rare that he gets a day off to just relax and watch Netlflix or something.
“For four days a week, he will do 45 minutes of cardio and three hours of weights during the day, he’ll have an afternoon nap, then dinner and then he will do his boxing training.
“The other three days a week, it’s mainly cardio such as running, swimming or cycling, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
“The only day that is a little more relaxed is Sundays, where he’ll try to finish his training early and have family time for the rest of the day
“Lockdown changed how we approached things, so we built a great gym in our home so Eddie could keep up his training.”
2017 World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie, aged 32, from Clayton, has devoted himself to boxing ahead of his much-anticipated fight with Bjornsson, who played ‘The Mountain’ in the hit fantasy drama series.
His eye-watering daily diet includes six meals per day to consume the 7,000 calories – almost three times the recommended amount of a regular adult male – his body demands.
His seven-days-a-week training schedule includes a mixture of intense weights sessions, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and cardio such as swimming and running.
Alex takes care of the meal preparation to allow Eddie to focus on the endless hours in the gym the pair made in their home as the Covid-19 pandemic forced the UK into lockdown.

Carbohydrates and protein form a major part of every meal with chicken, eggs, steak, rice and vegetables a common feature on Eddie’s 'platter-sized' plates.
Alex said: “Eddie’s diet changes depending on what it is he is trying to achieve. At the minute, he is trying to lose fat and maintain muscle, so he is eating around 7,000 calories per day.
“He usually eats six meals per day, and the focus is on carbs, protein and vegetables.
“Eddie doesn’t eat normal sized meals, so I have to serve it to him on a platter because it’s too much food to fit on a plate.

“I cook all of Eddie’s meals, unless there are some days where I am overloaded with my own commitments. In that case, I will prepare it for him and I will leave him instructions on how to cook it.
“It’s not that Eddie can’t or won’t cook, but I don’t think he has ever had the time to try, he has always been so busy with training and competing.
“I try to take care of as much as I can around the house so that Eddie can focus completely on his training.”
Although Eddie – nicknamed ‘The Beast’- might hog the headlines in the Hall household, Alex has her own hectic schedule, between running her own tattoo and barber businesses, supporting Eddie’s training and caring for Maximus, aged eight, and 11-year-old Layla, Eddie’s daughter from a previous relationship.
And if that wasn’t enough, she’s a keen athlete herself and famously defeated her strongman husband in a head-to-head fitness challenge while in lockdown in April.
She regularly shares insights into her hectic schedule on Instagram, where she has built up a loyal band of almost 70,000 followers.
To help the couple stay at the top of their game, they supplement their diet with vitamins from Birmingham-based Nourished to help increase their energy and improve recovery.
She added: “We are a sporting family so we are well aware of the importance of the right nutrition.
“Eddie has a high speed, high intensity lifestyle and it has always been my job to make sure he eats well so he performs well."
