At least eight people have been injured after a bus crash which left the vehicle dangling precariously off a bridge.
The tandem bus plunged 50ft from an overpass onto the road below in New York City.
The front section was left hanging suspended off the bridge, while the back of the bus remained on the expressway in the Bronx district.
Passengers were left with injuries “consistent with a fall from such a great height” after the accident on Thursday night, officials said.
The bus driver was among those injured and is said to be in a serious condition.
Emergency services closed off the entire area.
Investigators say it is not clear what caused the accident.
Dramatic mobile phone footage shows the bus dangling off the bridge as shocked bystanders gather around it.
New York City Fire Department shared photos of the horror crash on Instagram.
A “tandem bus has crashed through the barriers and is hanging off the overpass onto the roadway below”, the fire service said.

In a statement, the department’s deputy chief Paul Hopper said: “We assessed and treated a total of eight patients from this accident.
“The bus fell approximately 50 feet onto the access road.
“The patients suffered injuries consistent with a fall from such a great height.”
Acting battalion chief Steven Moore said rescuers began securing the bus on top of the bridge.

Emergency services treated the patients at the scene, he added.
He went on: “Currently we are making sure all the fuel and other hazardous materials within the vehicle is secured until the bus can be pulled onto the roadway.”
City councillor Mark Levine tweeted: “Horrible accident on Washington Bridge (Which connects 181st in Manhattan to the Bronx. This is not the GWB.)
“Tandem bus dangling off edge. Emergency services have closed off the entire area.”
It was unclear how many passengers were on the bus at the time.
