Golf star beat nude photo leak by ‘getting naked on her own terms’

Instagram sensation Paige Spiranac has opened up about the horror of having one of her intimate pictures leaked online.

Speaking on her new podcast Playing-A-Round, the 26-year-old explained she felt “violated” when someone she cared about shared the picture.

The golfer initially found fame by posting trick shot videos on Instagram, becoming the “OG Insta golf girl” and amassing an army of two million followers.

She lived under a cloud however she discovered the nude photo had found its way online – being harassed for it online.

Paige has explained however she was finally liberated as she got naked on her own terms in a photoshoot for Sports Illustrated.

She said: “I was nude, I was completely naked. That was the best moment for me.

“I felt so empowered and I was like, ‘OK, if I’m going to do this, I’m doing it on my terms and I took it back, I took my body back

“That was the moment I won, right there, when I did Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and I had my t**s out.”

She explained it helped her get closure on the horrific chapter of her life when one mistake chased her through every aspect of her life.

Paige admitted she sent the nude photo when she was trying to please the guy she was dating at the time.

She was horrified however when she found out after they broke up, he shared it around his pals.

Strangers began messaging her after seeing the private picture, receiving threats of blackmail and unsolicited pictures of men’s genitals.

She broke down in tears during the discussion, revealing she was subject to a campaign of harassment and abuse.

Paige said: “I would wake up every single day, I would check my phone and be like, ‘Am I going to be on TMZ today?

“Am I going to be here, am I going to be there?.

“That was the worst part. I was constantly stressed out that someone was going to see it and someone was going to get it and that it was going to get out.

“Also, that was one picture. I don’t know what else he had or what he was going to release. If he did it once, he could do it again and again and again.”

Paige then revealed minutes before a press conference in Dubai, she was threatened with blackmail by someone who threatened to the release the picture.

She ended up breaking down at the event, lamenting the campaign by trolls who made judgements on her and branded her “promiscuous”.

And a cruel fan confronted her with the picture while at a celebrity gold event in Take Tahoe, asking her to sign it in front of a horde of people.

Again she broke down, lamenting “I can never escape this picture”.

Paige explained: ““These little things kept happening where I was like, ‘OK, I think I’m over it’.

“Maybe a month will pass then it gets brought up again.
