Prince Harry’s marriage to former actress Meghan Markle demonstrated a shift in the Royal Family’s priorities, according to a royal expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary in what has been an eventful few years for the royals.
Since the couple married at the iconic St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2018, they have welcomed two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Harry and Meghan also sent shockwaves after leaving their roles as working royals to start a new life in California.
Although their marriage and Meghan’s introduction into royal life has been eventful for the Royal Family, one expert believes it shows The Firm have made love a “priority”.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield, founder of To Di For Daily and the To Di For Daily podcast, believes if Harry did find his “soulmate” in Meghan then that is the "biggest win".
She told the Daily Star: “No matter how you feel about the couple, Prince Harry obviously found something in Meghan Markle that he felt he was lacking in his life.
"I know that it's not a popular opinion, but if Prince Harry has found his soulmate and he loves her then I think that is their biggest win.

“Let's not forget that Meghan Markle was accepted by the Royal Family and invited into the fold. Harry was given permission to marry her and they did have a large, internationally celebrated, royal wedding.”
Kinsey believes the marriage shows the Royal family is adapting to “love” moving forward after numerous royals have faced complications in being able to marry the one they have truly fallen for.
She added: “Queen Elizabeth was given the privilege of marrying for love. Prince Charles was sadly not and it wreaked absolute havoc on the monarchy and on two young, innocent boys. Not to mention their mother, Princess Diana. Meanwhile, Catherine was one of the least problematic consorts we've seen in history. 'But she's a commoner!' Yes, with a completely stable homelife.
“Prince Harry knows that he could not have married Meghan Markle, a divorced American actress, 60 years ago. Ask poor Peter Townsend. So, obviously this union thrust the Royal Family into territory we hadn't seen before and 'love' finally seems to be a priority moving forward.”
Harry and Meghan are expected to return to the UK shortly with Lilibet and Archie to help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children.”
