Plymouth gunman Jake Davison killed his own mum before continuing his violent rampage through the city yesterday evening.
Tributes are today being paid to Maxine, who has also been pictured for the first time since the horror attack sent shockwaves around the country.
The mum had reportedly tried to get Davison urgent mental health help during lockdown.
A family friend told The Mirror: "The NHS basically said that they are short-staffed and that was it.
"The family even asked the police to come out to see him as he was talking and acting strange… but they didn't do a welfare check."
Earlier today, police confirmed a three-year-old toddler was among the youngest victims of the heinous mass shooting.
Six were killed in total, including the 22-year-old incel shooter, who finally turned the gun on himself.
Victims included the three-year-old girl and a 43-year-old male relative accompanying her, plus a 59-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman.
Two more, a 33-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, were shot and left with serious injuries.

"This could have been prevented."
Prior to the attack, Davison posted a string of creepy videos on YouTube, which has since been removed for violating the site's safety guidelines.
In his final upload, Davison complained he was a "fat" and "ugly virgin".

He told his followers: "Most people would have been completely utterly broken if they had lived my f****** life…
"I'm surprised I even made it this far, to be honest.
"I'm not trying to say pity party, or I'm the biggest victim in the world.
"But I know for a fact that if people had lived my f****** life, they wouldn't have lasted."
