Killer Rose West changes name to Jennifer Jones to break from horror past

Britain's most notorious female killer Rose West has decided she now wants to be called Jennifer Jones.

West, who is currently serving 10 life sentences after being convicted of murder, reportedly paid to have a her name changed.

The 67-year-old paid £36 to change her name by deed poll earlier this month, according to The Sun.

It has also been said by sources that prison officers and inmates have been told to call her by her new name.

A source told The Sun : “Rose thinks the name will give her some anonymity but there’s a lot of anger about it.

“She’s chosen the new surname because it’s so common and the Christian name just because she’s always liked it.

“For her, it’s more about getting rid of any association to Fred for good.”

West has been in HM Prison New Hall since last year and is currently in a unit with 16 other female convicts.

Last month it was reported West will gorge on a 10,000 calorie trio of festive feasts.
