Meghan Markle spotted wearing Princess Diana’s iconic $23,000 Cartier Tank watch

Meghan Markle has been spotted wearing the $23,000 (£16,700) gold Cartier Tank watch that once belonged to Princess Diana.

Yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex appeared on the Brightly Storytime YouTube channel to read her children's book The Bench whilst donning some swanky jewellery.

Diana's watch was gifted to Meghan by Prince Harry at the start of their relationship and it has quickly become one of her favourite pieces.

The Suits actress even splashed out on her own two-tone version of the watch in 2015 when the TV show was renewed for a third season.

She told Hello Magazine at the time: "I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch.

"When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version.

"I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."

The watch isn't the only thing Meghan has been gifted from Diana's extensive jewellery collection. In 2018 she famously sported the late Princess' butterfly earrings and gold bracelet as she and Harry toured Australia.

It also wasn't the only expensive piece she had on display yesterday.

The watch was paired with a $6,900 (£5,000) Cartier Love bangle and a $3,000 (£2,200) mini gold tennis bracelet designed by Jennifer Meyer.

Obviously, the Duchess' engagement ring worth $373,000 (£271,000) was also spotted, as well as a mysterious other ring on her pinky finger.

The latter is thought to have been designed by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz and is worth an estimated $62,000 (£45,000).

Page Six previously reported that the stunning jewel was made from Middle Eastern diamonds. Although the Sussexes' initially denied this, they later U-turned and said that their comments related to another of Meghan's pinky rings.
