Meghan Markle’s long-term pal Jessica Mulroney has shared a cryptic post about her "true friends" just months after she became the centre of a race row on Instagram.

Jessica was accused of using her "white privilege" against black social media influencer Sasha Exeter at the height of the Black Lives Matter protests in the summer.

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly had words with Mulroney at the time, with some publications claiming Prince Harry’s wife ditched her following the argument.

Mulroney denied this and said she and Meghan are like "family", but she has taken to Instagram to speak out against "a******s" she thought were her friends.

Sharing a snap of herself and her husband, Ben Mulroney, a Canadian television host, Jessica said: "After a few rough months, something to FINALLY celebrate.

"Thank you for being by my side Benny. Thank you to our true friends for sticking by us.

"We could never have made it without you.

"Silver lining: we finally know the a******s who we thought were our friends.

"Best gift we could have ever been given."

Despite some people on social media wondering if it was a swipe at Meghan, it was reported the Duchess had privately sided with Jessica.

Jessica lost her job on ABC's Good Morning America and a number of fashion deals as a result of the scandal.

As a result, she was the subject of tough social media criticism and even removed several pictures from her Instagram, including an image of her son at The Duke and Duchess of Sussex' star-studded wedding.

The move sparked a lot of controversy online and Jessica was forced to address her relationship with Meghan on her Instagram story.

In a post, she wrote: "People often ask why I delete certain posts.

"The amount of bullying and hatred I’ve had to put up with for 3 years….I’m tired of looking at it.

"Be kind. Be gracious. We are grown ups…stop acting like teenagers. Real women don’t put down other women."

Jessica added: "I'm going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family."

After the row, a source reportedly told the Mail On Sunday: "Jess has been a really loyal friend to Meg, she has stood by her through some really tough times.

"Jess may have made an egregious mistake, but that doesn’t mean she’s racist.

"Meghan has stood by her privately and they’ve talked a lot. Jess was loyal to Meghan for many, many years. There was no way that Meg would let her down."
