Melania Trump shows off new look as she welcomes White House Christmas tree

Melania Trump was all smiles as she welcomed a Christmas tree to the White House for the final time.

The mask-less First Lady debuted a new blonde hairstyle as she got into the festive spirit.

It comes after she was caught on tape earlier this year complaining, "Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?"

Melania will decorate the historic mansion before handing over the role of First Lady to Dr Jill Biden in January.

Kicking off the holiday season at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Melania appeared wearing a black and white Balenciaga coat, black gloves and black heeled boots.

She walked around the more than 18 foot tall Fraser Fir to inspect it, having had it delivered by a wagon pulled by two Clydesdales.

The enormous tree will sit in the Blue Room of the White House as officials plan the traditional festive parties at the Trumps home.

Decorating for Christmas will be Melania’s last major role as the First Lady.

She was caught on a secret recording earlier this year confiding in former friend and employee Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, where she moaned: "I'm working like a – my a** off – at Christmas stuff that you know."

And she huffed: "Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff and decoration? But I need to do it, right?

"Okay, and then I do it and I say that I'm working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, 'Oh, what about the children that they were separated?'

"Give me a f****** break. Were they were saying anything when Obama did that?

"I cannot go, I was trying get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn't have a chance, needs to go through the process and through the law."

The tapes were released when Wolkoff appeared on CNN in October, hours before Melania tested positive for Covid-19 with husband Donald.

But the outgoing First Lady appeared to have put that behind her as she happily waved and wished photographers a Merry Christmas.

The festive atmosphere was well and truly underway as a brass band played Christmas carols, including ‘Oh Christmas Tree’.

Trump, America’s 45th President, lost the election in November to Democrat Joe Biden.

The President-Elect will take over from Trump, who has refused to concede, in January.
