Members of the Royal Family are “hiding things” from each other in an ongoing Instagram war, according to a royal expert.
Meghan Markle sparked controversy during their farewell tour last week after publishing photos of her at an engagement on the same day Camilla Parker Bowles was delivering a long-planned domestic violence speech.
Reports claimed Prince Charles ’ wife, 72, was left “very upset” by the snub, with some saying Meghan had overshadowed the queen-to-be.
But Sophia Money-Coutts, an author and royal columnist for The Telegraph, believes competition is rife throughout the Royal Family – including Prince William and Prince Harry – to get one up on each other.

Speaking on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat, she said: “If you do look at the number of engagements, they all do hundreds of engagements a year, inevitably some days are going to cross over.
“But I interviewed someone a while ago who used to work with Prince Charles and he just said it’s so bad.
“The departments aren’t talking to each other and they’re almost hiding stuff back to present these great photo opportunities and beat all the others with the Instagram pictures.

Fellow journalist Gavin Ramjaun agreed, adding there was a sort of “internal rivalry” going on inside The Firm.
Rumours of a rift between the royal brothers is nothing new, with Harry even seemingly admitting to it in a bombshell ITV documentary last year.
But the podcast’s host Omid Scobie – the royal correspondent for ABC News – said clashes on the royal calendar is unsurprising.
Echoing Sophia’s initial comment, he said: “I think that a diary clash happens all the time. You have so many senior members of the Royal Family working in one go.

“On the same day that Meghan released the photos from the National Theatre, Camilla was giving her domestic violence speech, Princess Anne was working, the Countess of Wessex was in Sudan.
“It’s very difficult now in the world of social media to think how can there not be a clash.”
It comes after Prince Harry was pictured “scowling” during his last royal service next to his smiling wife.
