The incident was uncovered after a passerby found a body of a brown puppy lying on the street of Ankang, Shaanxi province in southwest China.
Surveillance camera footage from nearby shops reveals the moment of the attack in the early morning of February 13.
A white pitbull is seen sinking its teeth into the helpless pooch while its owner films the gruesome attack on his phone.
It is understood that the man, known by the surname Wang, had not put a leash on his pet dog and he failed to follow the rules to wear a face mask amid the coronavirus outbreak.
