Thug who bit off man’s nose in bar brawl ‘still had bits in his teeth’

A suspect bit off a man’s nose during a bloody brawl outside a bar, police say.

Blayre Ward reportedly told officers he had pieces "still in his teeth" when he was arrested.

The 24-year-old and John Turner III, 20, were kicked out of a boozer after a row with other drinkers in Dubuque, Iowa in the US.

The argument spilled outside Noonan's Tap bar and turned violent on Saturday night, according to reports.

Ward allegedly punched one man – 21-year-old Austin Plumley – and knocked him to the ground.

After getting back up he fled to a nearby house and called his dad Scott, who arrived at the scene.

Ward threw two large rocks at the property and yelled he would "kill your whole family" and “kill your kids, too," the Charlotte Observer reports.

CCTV footage then showed Ward punching the dad who fought back, according to court documents.

Police said Ward then bit "the majority" of his nose off.

He was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.

Officers said he "will need surgery to rebuild" his nose.

When Ward, of Dubuque, was arrested, he reportedly admitted to biting it and "stated he had pieces of the nose still in his teeth".

He now faces charges of criminal mischief, assault causing bodily injury, harassment, wilful injury causing serious injury, and interference with official acts.

Turner, also of Dubuque, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Austin Plumley, of Guttenberg, Iowa, suffered injuries to his head, neck and knuckles, KWWL reported.

He was treated at hospital where he was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct-fighting and violation of a no-contact order.
