A three-year-old and her father are among the five shot dead in a rampage in Plymouth.
Tributes have been paid to Lee Martyn, 43, and tragic daughter Sophie after 22-year-old Jake Davison opened fire on a quiet cul-de-sac yesterday.
The maniac scaffolder shot the pair at random after first targeting his mum Maxine Davison, 51, in her home and killed two others with a pump-action shotgun.
Tributes have now flooded in for the tragic dad, who had adopted Sophie with his wife around two years ago.
Devon and Cornwall Police have named the other victims of Davison's Plymouth shooting spree as three-year-old Sophie Martyn and her father Lee Martyn, 43; Stephen Washington, 59 and Kate Shepherd, 66.
It is understood they had been returning home when Davison opened fire.
Lee's wife is an intensive care nurse at nearby Derriford Hospital where the injured victims were taken – it is not known if she was on duty at the time, the Sun reports.
One friend said: "Lost for words.
"You was such a kind selfless gentleman who put everyone else before yourself we have shared many memories together, I will never forget the things in life you have done for me, you will forever be in my heart Lee Martyn".
Another said: "Thank you to those far & wide that have checked up on me to see if I'm safe, yes I am but I am totally distraught that a good friends brother & niece have been taken in such an horrific way, my heart is breaking for my friend & his family at this very very sad news.
"Deepest & sincerest condolences to all the deceased & hope those injured make a speedy recovery."
A close friend of Lee for nearly 30 years told The Telegraph: “Lee was a brilliant friend and was loved by a lot of people. He was a genuine, caring guy and an amazing husband and dad.
“Sophie was just a beautiful little girl, cheeky and full of life. What’s happened to them is the stuff of nightmares.”
The friend questioned why Davison had been allowed a firearm licence, despite reportedly suffering from mental health problems.
“If he had issues, why the hell was he allowed to have a shotgun? We can’t understand it.”
A neighbour of the family said: “It's just so awful. They were a perfect family. The sort you see in adverts. I can't believe this has happened. And Sophie was just the sweetest, cutest little girl. So, so lovely. This is absolutely devastating for Becky and for Sophie’s brother.
“Davison destroyed something so beautiful when he killed Lee and Sophie.”
Tragic Lee, who works for Toshiba, posted a picture on his Facebook in 2019 revealing he had adopted little Sophie.
He said at the time: "We finally adopted Sophie after nearly 15 months ! Game changer.”

The gunman uploaded a series of disturbing YouTube videos prior to carrying out the attack at about 6.10pm, and followed a series of pro-gun accounts.
In one, Davison complained that he was still a "fat" and "ugly virgin".
He told his followers: "Most people would have been completely utterly broken if they had lived my fg life…I'm surprised I even made it this far to be honest."
Davison continued: "I'm always gonna keep trying, as long as you're breathing air.
"It's like in the Terminator, the whole premise of the Terminator movies is that everything's rigged against you, there's no hope for humanity.

"He ran from the house shooting as he ran and proceeded to shoot at a few people in the linear park up from the drive."
