The snow comes days after Storm Arwen wreaked havoc across Northern Ireland, Scotland and the west of England – leaving three people dead. It will be a cold, frosty start up and down the country on Thursday with wintry showers bringing a risk of ice in places. The Met Office has warned people travelling to take extra care this morning and to allow extra time for their journeys. As we move into the afternoon there will be sunny skies for many from the southeast all the way up into central Scotland, but those showers continue in the east and parts of the west.
