Yevgeny Priogzohin, an ally of Vladimir Putin, may see his relationship with the Russian President strained as the Wagner leader continues to suggest that Moscow’s military is denying his troops weapons. In a statement, Prigozhin said: “I’m knocking on all doors and sounding the alarm about ammunition and reinforcements, as well as the need to cover our flanks.
“If everyone is coordinated, without ambition, screw-ups and tantrums, and carries out this work, then we will block the armed forces of Ukraine. If not, then everyone will be s*****d,”
Wagner and the Russian military continue to attacks the Ukrainian city Bakhmut. A commander in Kyiv has said the conditions there are now “utter hell”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office said his chief of the general staff and commander of ground forces had both spoken to him “in favour of continuing the defensive operation” in the frontline city.
The Wagner Group leader, Prigozhin, was filmed last year recruiting prisoners to fight in the war for Russia.
It has been reported that Russian forces have thrown untrained men into the battle in waves in an attempt to overwhelm and exhaust the Ukrainians.
