A woman was stunned to see a former President of the United States staring back at her in a piece of fruit.

President Abraham Lincoln showed up in Vicky Gonzales' banana, with the presidential piece of produce making for quite the shock as she tucked into the bunch.

Although she could not work out who it was at first, she soon realised she was staring at the outline of the 16th POTUS.

She is now convinced of her fruity find and so too are those who saw the banana and a photograph of it, although one user was not convinced by the appearance of Lincoln, instead believing it to be Fidel Castro.

Spotting former world leaders in one of your five a day is not par for the course but Vicky, from the Philippines, is adamant she did just that.

The Alabat local said: "Side view of an old woman? Foreign signer back in the 60s whose name I can't recall? Or maybe I am so hungry."

But it was not Serge Gainsbourg on the side of her banana, and members of the public rallied together pointing out the figure in the fruit was a presidential legend.

One person saw assassinated Abraham in the bruised section of the banana, saying: "I see Abe Lincoln".

Plenty others chipped in to say it looked like Honest Abe or they had spotted some shape of world leader-like focus, with one saying they saw Cuban president Fidel Castro.

It is not the only odd sighting, with The Daily Star previously reporting a strange painting that had people convinced of time travel.

People were sure they spotted signs of travelling through time in a painting from 400 years ago, with a pair of "Nike shoes" seemingly showing in a 17th-Century portrait.

Whether it was a trainer fit for a gym session or just a bit of Dutch clobber from Ferdinand Bol is seemingly up for debate.
